Ugandan politician and well-known singer Dr. Jose Chameleon recently declared his ambition to run for president in the forthcoming 2026 elections.

Most artists in uganda think and bilieve that they can handle politics but the question remains, will they ?

He made the news while holding a press conference at his Kampala house in the presence of his friends and family.

One of Uganda’s most well-known and influential musicians is Dr. Jose Chameleon, commonly known as Joseph Mayanja, has participated in numerous social causes and political campaigns while also working as a politician and philanthropist. Dr. Jose Chameleon’s musical accomplishments are not all that he has accomplished. Since the late 1990s, when he began his career as a reggae singer, Dr. Chameleon, whose real name is Joseph Mayanja, has been a well-known figure in the Ugandan music scene. Since then, he has broadened his musical repertoire and now includes elements of afrobeat, dancehall, hip hop, and R&B. Additionally, he has worked with a number of foreign musicians, including Akon, Davido, and P-Square.

Let’s start by congratulating Dr. Jose Chameleon on being chosen to serve as the Uganda Red Cross Society’s (URCS) goodwill ambassador starting in June 2021. He was picked because of his humanitarian activities and his capacity to uplift and inspire others to effect change for the better.
